Dr. Hammock

Taylor Hammock DMD is a charismatic southerner born in Georgia and raised in South Carolina. He originally pursued a career in biomedical engineering—graduating from the Honors College at The College of Charleston with a B.S. in Biology and minors in Health and Biomedical Physics. However, after winning grants for viral genomics, tissue optics, photodynamic medicine, and red light therapy he realized he didn’t enjoy the isolation in research and that the PhD track wasn’t right for him.

Shadowing a local office, Dr. Hammock discovered how dentistry combined his love of science with interpersonal connections and art. He then switched career paths starting with a position as a dental lab technician and surgical assistant before earning his doctorate from the Medical University of South Carolina. There he earned advanced elective training in oncology, occlusion (biting), and digital dentistry.

Years of avid doodling and undergraduate drawing electives has made cosmetics Dr. Hammock’s favorite area followed by surgical procedures. He also loves working with the state-of-the-art technologies like 3D scanners, same day milled-crowns, and needle-free dental lasers as these innovations minimize patient discomfort and global wastes.

Dr. Hammock moved to Wilton Manors to join an accepting, supportive community. He enjoys biking to work and seeing the pride in the area. An animal lover, Dr. Hammock has two male, white dogs: Milo, a Maltese-Pekingese, & Romeo, a Bichon Frise. He is a callisthenic enthusiast who can currently do a one-legged squat and one-armed push-up and will have you doing Pilates by the end of your visit.
