Oral Surgery

Oral Surgery (Including Tooth Extractions) typically involves the removal of a patient's tooth in a process known as tooth extraction.  It is usually required when the patient's tooth is severely decayed, broken, or infected and no further restorative option exists for the tooth.  In order to replace the missing tooth, there are options such as an implant, a bridge, or a removable prosthetic device.

Each of these options should be discussed with your dentist to best determine which option is best for you, prior to the extraction of the affected tooth.  It may also be recommended for impacted third molars to be extracted to help prevent future complications.  Once an extraction is determined to be the appropriate course of treatment, the postoperative recommendations and treatments will be thoroughly discussed with your dentist and accompanying staff.
